CsI-Advantage - High Resolution CsI(Na) detectors

High resolution, high stopping power, non-radioactive

CsI-Advantage is a detector series that provides outstanding energy resolution: 5.6% fwhm @ 662 keV. Together with the high stopping power of CsI this increases detection sensitivity and reduces counting times. This performance is second only to LaBr3. But, unlike LaBr3, CsI(Na) is free of any radioactivity and fully compatible with low-rate and low-background counting. No other material shares these unique characteristics.

Complete system

CsI-Advantage detectors are sold as complete R2D systems with a digitally controlled and embedded HV unit (TwinBase) and an eMorpho digital MCA.

Performance

Cs-137 spectra The extraordinary performance of the CsI-Advantage series is achieved by selecting crystals at the manufacturer's site to our specifications and by employing optimized analog and digital signal processing in the eMorpho MCA.

Short performance specifications

Applications

  • Low-rate sample counting
  • Low-background counting
  • Radiation monitoring
  • Count rates < 5,000 cps

Energy resolution

Cited below are typical and guaranteed values for CsI-Advantage detectors with 3-inch tall, 3-inch diameter crystals.

 Energy  dE/E, typ.

dE/E, guar.

122 keV8.6%≤9.4%
662 keV5.6%≤6.0%
1333 keV4.1%≤4.5%
