eMorpho-HP - Selection Guide
There are 3 sets of options for the eMorpho high
performance MCAs.
Select the speed and accuracy of the waveform
digitizing ADC:
-
10-bit @ 60 MSPS:
-
Most popular choice. Offers lowest power consumption and is ideal
for use with NaI(Tl) and slower scintillators.
-
10-bit @ 100 MSPS:
-
Use with scintillators that are much faster than NaI(Tl),
especially when very high count rates are anticipated
(>0.5 Mcps). Recommended for use with LaCl3
and LaBr3
-
12-bit @ 20 MSPS:
-
Use for slow scintillators requiring light pulse integration
times of 5 μs and longer, such as CsI(Na), CsI(Tl),
CdWO4
-
12-bit @ 80 MSPS:
-
Use with fast scintillators (NaI) when a high dynamic range is
expected, for instance in prompt and delayed neutron activation
analysis.
Select the power source:
-
USB-powered:
-
Most popular choice. Use when operating one
eMorpho at a time. USB supply current is
240 mA to 310 mA.
-
Powered from 3.3 V
-
Use when operating multiple eMorphos on one
computer. Lowers overall power consumption. USB supply current
per device is only 25 mA.
Select the PC-board shape:
-
2-inch Ø round
-
Smallest footprint. Use when embedding within a 2-inch detector
housing. Board has headers for USB and JTAG connectors.
-
2-inch square
-
Convenient to use. Board has common-sized connectors, such as a
USB mini-B connector and a Molex 2x7, 2mm pitch header that mates
with a Xilinx JTAG platform cable.
