TwinBases NP10-0530 & NQ10-0530  Product Description

High voltage generators with digital gain control and a digital temperature sensor

Targeted application:

  1. Precision spectroscopy at low and high average PMT anode currents, up to 50 μA DC.
  2. Remote MCA. The eMorpho MCA or other control logic is located outside the detector housing. The digital control interface allows accurate HV-adjustments without interference from ground loops or other low-frequency EMI.

Supply voltage:

The device is fully specified for supply voltages in the range from 3.10 V to 5.50 V. This includes common digital standards, such as CMOS 3.30 V ±5%, TTL 5.00 V ±5% and USB: 4.35 V to 5.50 V.

Low power:

Supply current vs HV for NP10-0530 The supply current is very nearly proportional to the PMT high voltage. At HV = 1000 V the supply current is 42 mA.

Standby mode:

When the high voltage is set to zero the supply current reduces to a mere 0.8 mA.

Mechanical:

The NP10 and the NQ10 are mounted on a FE1014 socket, which plugs onto a JEDEC B14-38 PMT hardpin socket. Pins 1 through 10 are the dynodes D1 through D10, respectively. Pin 11 is the anode. Pin 12 is a no-connect. Pin 13 is the focus electrode and pin 14 is the cathode. Including the FE1014 socket, the TwinBase is about 2.2 inches tall.

Related devices:

  • The NP15, NQ15 devices operate at even lower supply voltages but lack the digital controls.
