3-inch R2D digital radiation sensor

R2D-CsI(Na)-2, R2D-CsI(Na)-3

Radiation to data sensor with a 2-inch or a 3-inch CsI(Na) crystal.

Targeted application:

  1. High-energy spectroscopy: Most suitable at γ-ray energies beyond 2 MeV.
  2. Moderate count rate operation: The use of CsI(Na) allows operation at up to 20,000 cps.

Operation:

The R2D sensor connects to the host computer via a USB cable. The host recognizes the sensor type and reads the calibration information. The software adjusts all necessary parameters and within one minute after power on the detector will acquire spectra.

Performance:

The R2D-CsI(Na) sensors will provide better than 7.0% (fwhm) energy resolution at 662 keV. The embedded eMorpho MCA makes it possible to operate the CsI(Na) detector at count rates of up to 20,000 cps even though the material exhibits a long, non-exponential fade out of the light pulse.

Extended functionality:

Besides spectroscopy, the R2D sensors support radiation monitoring in list mode, in which individual γ-rays are recorded with their energy and time of occurrence.
