3-inch R2D digital radiation sensor

R2D-NaI(Tl)-2 and R2D-NaI(Tl)-3

Radiation to data sensor with a 2-inch or a 3-inch NaI(Tl) crystal.

Targeted application:

  1. Low-cost spectroscopy: Use a 2-inch system for measuring γ-ray energies up to 662 keV (137Cs) and a 3-inch system for higher energies.
  2. High-count rate operation: The use of NaI(Tl) allows operation at up to 500,000 cps.
  3. Long-lived isotopes: Ideal for finding and identifying radioactive isotopes at γ-ray energies below 2.5 MeV

Operation:

The R2D sensor connects to the host computer via a USB cable. The host recognizes the sensor type and reads the calibration information. The software adjusts all necessary parameters and within one minute after power on the detector will acquire spectra.

Performance:

The R2D-NaI(Tl) sensors will provide better than 7.0% (fwhm) energy resolution at 662 keV. The embedded eMorpho MCA fully supports the high count rates possible with NaI(Tl).

Extended functionality:

Besides spectroscopy, the R2D sensors support radiation monitoring in list mode, in which individual γ-rays are recorded with their energy and time of occurrence.
