The eMorpho is a powerful
multitasking MCA that can perform numerous
signal processing and communications operations independently
and in parallel. Taking advantage of the strict
modularity of the real time signal processing code,
we can easily customize the eMorpho to perform additional
tasks.
Typical applications include real time pulse shape analysis
for phoswich detectors and list mode data acquisition for
monitoring systems. We can establish daisy-chains for clocks,
time-stamps and even data to support monitoring systems using
a single data access port. Some advanced functionality such
as a programmable fast LED pulser are already built-in and
can be customized for the intended use.

Our core capability is to equip
scintillator detectors with low-cost, low-power and easy to
use, yet powerful instrumentation. The TwinBase and eMorpho
form a versatile combination, but no one solution can
possibly cover all applications at a competitive price.
When customizing an off-the-shelf product is not practical we
can re-use well-tested design components, firmware and
hardware, to create a new instrumentation solution. While
adding new features and characteristics, we rely on proven
technology to minimize risk, cost and time to
market.
Anticipated evolutions of the eMorpho line include compact
multi-channel cards, and truly scalable systems for which
cost and complexity increases in strict proportion to
the number of data acquisition channels. Such
systems avoid expensive chassis and backplanes and instead
employ high-speed daisy chain links for clock, trigger, and
data communication.

Bridgeport Instruments provides
choices to create targeted instrumentation designs. Weighing
cost, risk and time to market, you may consider to:
-
Customize an off-the-shelf product.
This is the lowest-cost approach. Utilizing a proven
hardware, firmware and software platform, we add
functionality unique to your application. We ensure the
vertical integration from firmware through software and you
will receive an enhanced easy to use application
programmer's interface (API).
-
Adapt our core technology:
At a predictable cost and minimal risk, we can recast
proven hardware components into a new configuration and add
functionality, such as extended I/O to your embedded
processor. Added firmware modules will integrate with
well-tested and documented components and the API will be
expanded accordingly.
